Morphological characterization, fungicidal alternatives and biological control of Peronospora farinosa on chamomile

Abstract Background Chamomile ( Matricaria chamomile L.) is one of the very important medicinal plants worldwide, particularly in Egypt. The downy mildew disease considered most diseases chamomile. Peronospora farinose was identified as causal pathogen infected plants, collected from Fayoum Governorate, Egypt, during 2022. Results Efficiency some fungicidal alternatives for management on leaves evaluated vitro studies using detached technique. Each biocide, Bio-Cure F and Thyme oil emulsion treatments, before after fungal inoculation, respectively, best effective which reduced incidence to lowest percentages. However, treatment inoculation had superiority reducing severity percentage, followed by emulsion, inoculation. On other hand, under greenhouse conditions, percentages F, respectively. Total sugars content obviously lower treated than untreated controls. contrary, free phenols were higher Conclusion present study indicated possibility (biocide) essential spraying against P. farinosa plants.
